AI Product Developer
Help us build the future of AI-enabled, human recruitment 🤖💖👯
We usually respond within a week
Personal, different, and kind. That’s the essence of Teamtailor. And that’s how we try to make recruiting a joy by giving companies tools that help them attract and hire the right talent. We believe in providing a caring candidate experience that helps people find their dream jobs. Today, that leads to more than 50,000 people being hired through the Teamtailor platform every month.
We believe AI will fundamentally change how recruitment works. We want to make sure it changes for the better. Where human judgement is still central, and AI removes friction and helps recruiters focus on what matters most: connecting with candidates. Our Co-pilot team is building that future, shipping LLM-powered features that make a real difference for hundreds of thousands of users.
We're looking for a senior developer to join this team. Someone who's been building with LLMs, understands their capabilities and limitations, and is excited about what's becoming possible. Someone who geeks out about prompting strategies, context windows, and evaluation approaches — but cares even more about whether the feature actually helps users.
What you'll do
You'll work on the Co-pilot team, building AI-powered features that help recruiters work smarter. That means integrating LLMs into our Rails application, designing prompts and interaction patterns, and shipping features end-to-end — from early concepts through to production.
Like all our product teams, you'll work in small groups (two developers + one designer) during six-week cycles, with full ownership of how you solve the problems in front of you. The difference is the domain. You'll be focused specifically on AI capabilities and how they can transform the recruitment experience.
We're also hoping you'll be someone who's genuinely enthusiastic about how software development itself is evolving. Someone who's curious, keeps learning, and naturally shares what they discover with others.
What we're looking for
Required:
Senior-level experience (5+ years) building production software
Hands-on experience integrating LLMs into products and building AI agents — you've shipped features that use OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar APIs
Strong Ruby on Rails skills (our primary backend)
Comfort working across the stack — our frontend is Ember.js and TypeScript, and while you don't need prior Ember experience, you should be confident you can learn it
Genuine curiosity about AI and how it's changing what's possible
Nice to have:
Deeper ML/AI engineering background
Experience with prompt engineering, RAG architectures, or LLM evaluation
Prior experience in HR tech or recruiting
How we work
We use Shape Up — six-week cycles with real autonomy, followed by a two-week cooldown split between Innovation Week (experiments and learning) and Improvement Week (polish and maintenance). No sprints, no standups, no story points. You can read more in our post Building Teamtailor — How We Work in the Product Team.
We're a distributed team across Europe, working hybrid. For this role, we're open to candidates anywhere in Europe, but being based in (or willing to relocate to) Stockholm, Gothenburg, or Linköping is a significant plus — that's where most of the Co-pilot team is located.
